OK, so I have a lot of time on my hands this week. I have never done two reviews in one week since we have started this thing, but I guess there is a first time for everything.
I have really been looking at getting a 1911 in the future and the one thing I can’t decide on is brand. I thought I wanted the Kimber until I was told by a couple of friends that their customer service is not that good and they are not built like they used to be. I have been looking at the Springfield 1911 Limited and that is what I shot. Now understand the only difference between the Limited and a regular Springfield 1911 is fancier sights, so if you don’t need that don’t spend the money and you will get just as good a gun. The first thing I noticed was it felt really light for a 1911 and very slender. The recoil was amazingly light. I was very accurate at 7 yards and it was very easy to aim and very easy to stay on target with. I had a great time shooting this gun and it was just a pleasure to shoot. Also, it is easy to reload. You could take this thing to the range and have fun with it or you could use it for home defense, especially with that 45 load it has great stopping power. Or you could carry it because it is so slender. With the right holster it would be very comfortable and lightweight.
Shooters Supply in Columbia has one of these for about $670.00. That is the best price I have seen so far. For now that is all… keep safe and remember you only get one chance with a gun.
